Police officer crushed to death

Srinagar: A police officer was crushed to death by a speedy truck-trailer at Handwara in north Kashmirs Kupwara district on Thursday.
A police official said that Sub-Inspector Mohammad Yaseen Shah was hit by a Truck-Trailer bearing registration number JK09A-4461 in Handwara Town today afternoon.
The police officer was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where he was referred to SKIMS Soura, the official said.
Yaseen shah, 57 year-old, a resident of Hanjura area of Chadoora in Budgam was performing his duty when the incident occurred, he said.
Shah was only day before promoted as Sub-Inspector from ASI, the official said.
The driver of the truck was immediately arrested by the police team, he said.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.
