Beating prisoners an act of shame, cowardice: Nayeem Khan

Srinagar – Terming the beating of prisoners and condition in jails as an act of shame and cowardice, senior resistance leader and National Front Chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan has said even hardcore criminals are released on the eve of their religious festivals but Kashmiries do not get the benefit of this formality.

Talking to senior party workers at head office, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said, India is so scared of the resistance of Kashmiri people that it does not release them on the auspicious day of Eid.

Khan further said, India and its local collaborators are trying everything to break the resistance will of Kashmiris even by beating our brethren in jails but these tactics can neither kill the Kashmir dispute nor the will of our freedom.

Khan directed his party members to keep a close touch with the kith and kin of those who are languishing in jails so that their parents or kids would not feel lonely on the eve of coming Eid-ul-Zaha.

Khan said that the people in jails are in fact the torch bearers of resistance who are facing every sort of oppression for freedom. He added that the people like Mushtaq Ul Islam who are in outside valley jails are in merciful conditions because they are facing a lot by the hands of communal jail authorities. Khan further said that beating of prisoners is an act of cowardice and the laws used against them are called the laws of oppression even by the Amnesty International.

He said that in district jail Islamabad which is situated in Mattan, the prisoners are facing a lot because the jail conditions are not conducive. Khan said that even dozens of prisoners are languishing in jails since decades and are facing all sorts of difficulties.
