SRINAGAR: Department of Horticulture Kashmir today organized a day long orientation programme on organic Farming through Cluster Approach under Participatory Guarantee System (PGS).
All the District Level Officers of Horticulture Department participated in the orientation programme organized at Horticulture Complex Rajbagh, Srinagar. The officers were imparted training on the process of Organic Farming Certification to be launched in Jammu and Kashmir State.
The Organic Certification process will cover the fruit crops grown in the state for value addition in order to meet the demand at National and International market. The process will benefit the growers who are interested in growing crops organically for their better returns. The process in the beginning will be launched through cluster approach with the participation of farmers.
