SRINAGAR: The enforcement squad of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD has realised a sum of Rs 1,06,500/- (Rupees one lac, six thousand and five hundred only) from 95 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 during a special market checking drive in Srinagar.
The Enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director Enforcement CAPD fined the shopkeepers during a drive held from September 18, 2015 to October 09, 2015 at Saraf Kadal, Mukhdoom Sahib, Rainawari, Saida Kadal, Bernina, Peer Bagh, Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Amira Kadal, Jawahar Nagar, Maharaja Bazar, Sonwar, Khayam Chowk, Khanyar, Zadibal, Soura, Safa Kadal, H.M.T, Hazratbal, Lil Bazar, Bohri Kadal, Mehjoor Nagar, Dhara, Burzahama, Mala Bagh, Harwan, 90 Feet Soura, Kalai Ander, Nageen, Baghi Mehtab, Housing Colony Bemina, Bemina Bye pass, Parimpora, Eidgah. Braripora, Batmaloo and other areas of Srinagar.
