SRINAGAR: Showkat Ahmad Zargar Saturday assumed charge as Municipal Commissioner and after a brief introductory meeting with his staff reviewed various works besides sought report on sanitation, building permissions and illegal constructions.
The Commissioner said improvement in the solid waste management, drainage and sewerage system besides beautification of Srinagar city were on his wishlist.
Zargar exhorted upon the officers to ensure all works finished within the time frame.
He directed the ward officers and enforcement officers to conduct regular site visits to ensure no illegal constructions and encroachments took place anywhere in the city.
He said it was not humanly possible for the Corporation to keep track of all what is happening in the city and requested the general public to get in touch with the Corporation on the numbers 2474499 and18001807038 in case they saw anything happening illegally.
