Protection Of Heritage Our Prime Duty: Nasir
Srinagar – Minister for Tourism and Culture, . Nawang Rigzin Jora while expressing his happiness over revival of cultural activities in the Valley, said that during the current year, there was manifold increase in the cultural activities. He said during the last 25 years turmoil the activities suffered a setback and artists could not perform which affected their talent also but now the government would provide every possible assistance for the revival of cultural activities in the state. He said that music, theatre, film, entertainment, television or drama has become essential part of the life and after tiredness either by round the clock work culture or tension, one feels a bit of relief after enjoying music or any other entertainment.
Delighted to see Jam packed audience SKICC Complex for witnessing the Jammu and Kashmir Film Makers and Artists Cooperative Limited (JKFMACL) award ceremony, . Jora said that it is our duty to support such activities whole heartedly for flourishing our centuries old composite culture of the three regions of the State and is our responsibility also listen to the problems of the artists of the State and solve them accordingly.

Mushtaq Bala, General Secretary, Shabir Hyder, Vice President and Festival Director, . AYASH Arif and a number of other important personalities, artists and writers were present on the occasion.
The Minister of State for Home and Tourism, . Nasir Aslam Wani while congratulated the award winning artists and other dignitaries, said that the ten days drama festival provided an opportunity to the young talented artists to prove their mettle before the audience by performing at the stage and also entertained the common people especially drama lovers. We have high cultural heritage which is to be preserved and encourage our old links of the young talented artists, who not only needs encouragement but also exposure and Drama Stage and theatre are the best places for the purpose.
. Nasir said that need of the hour is also to protect our age old rich culture as in the modern fast running world, we are forgetting our past traditions, however, he stressed for keeping them alive, so that our young generation would also come to know of their glorious past.
The Minister said that the renovation work of Tagore Hall is in progress and hoped the face lifting and other works would be completed very soon.
On the occasion, the Secretary, Languages and Cultural Academy, . Khalid Bashir, Director Tourism, Talat Parvez and Commissioner, SMC were also facilitated.
