Sowing seeds of discord unfortunate
SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) has expressed surprise at the departure of Agha Syed Hassan from the moderate faction accusing prominent Shia leader of sowing discord among pro-freedom leadership.
A Hurriyat (M) spokesman said Agha Hasan, as an important and active member of the amalgam for the past more than twenty years, has now discovered lack of strategy as a prelude to his departure.
People know that there is definitely more to it than meets the eye and citing this reason helps him look good among people and shift the blame on to others, the spokesman added.
People are not so naïve not to understand the reasons behind the Agas move, he said.
The spokesman lamented that at a time when unity among leadership is the utmost need of the hour sowing seeds of discord is most unfortunate.
APHC existing on papers only
Taking a dig at the Mirwaiz led Hurriyat , Agha Syed Hasan Thursday said that this organization is existing only on papers while on ground its contribution towards Kashmiri nation is zero.
One day this organization (APHC) decides to open up offices at district level while on the next day its decision makers force workers to shut down those offices. These Hurriyat leaders are insensitive towards the problems of the people who sacrificed everything for the Kashmir freedom struggle. Time and again I requested the chairman and executive council to change the strategy, but no heed was paid towards my pleas, Agha Hasan said and added that Hurriyat leaders have lost their credibility among people.
I did not quit APHC but I was on protest leave and was urging upon the party to change its redundant strategy. Now APHC spokesperson has himself said that I have left the amalgam and I will do it. This amalgam never implements any decision on the ground. It has become redundant. All its members have been going away from this Hurriyat as they have realized that it is a one man party, he said.
When asked why he adhered to the policies of the Mirwaiz faction from such a long time and why he didnt quit earlier, Agha Syed Hasan said, that he always tried his best to persuade executive members to change the strategy. But I failed every time. People doubt our integrity now. There is a huge gap between the party leaders of APHC and common people.
