PAHALGAM- District Baramulla on Thursday lifted the Provincial Level Inter District Kabaddi Championship for Under-17 boys.
The tournament for all age groups (AAG) boys was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Basharat Qayoom (IAS) at Sports Stadium Pahalgam on October 24 in the presence of Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Kashmir Bashir Ahmad (Organizing Secretary), District Youth Services & Sports Officer Anantnag Mushtaq Ahmad.
District Baramullah defeated District Budgam by 40-35 points and lifted the trophy in a close encounter. While Kupwara secured 3rd Position in the tournament by defeating Anantnag.
A presentation ceremony was held at which Principal Government Higher Secondary School Pahalgam was the Chief Guest and Assistant Director Tourism was Guest of Honour. Speaking at the ceremony the Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the Youth Services and Sports Department for organising the event at Pahalgam. He later felicitated the 1st three position holders.
It is pertinent to mention that a total 120 players from ten districts of Kashmir division were part of this tournament.
Kabbadi U-19 boys competitions will start from October 28 and all arrangements are being supervised by YSS Anantnag.
