Stresses on synergy between the concerned agencies
JAMMU- Minister for CAPD, Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today convened a meeting to review the status of Bhatinda, Jammu and Srinagar Gas Pipeline Project.
The Minister while taking a detailed review of the project directed the concerned officers to ensure that the land acquisition processes are completed immediately and asked the Deputy Commissioners to regularly monitor the status of works to ensure that bottlenecks impeding the project implementation are removed in time.
Minister stressed that the ambitious project on successful completion will provide a reliable source of energy thereby, fuelling economic growth and investment and develop industries. It will also overcome shortage of LPG and provide a affordable alternate fuel to the consumers and will bear a positive impact on the State Power and Transport sector etc.
The Minister maintained that synergy between the executing agencies and line departments is vital for smooth implementation of the projects and asked the concerned agencies to work in close coordination so that there are no undue delays for want of requisite clearances from the concerned departments.
The Minister was apprised about the current status of the project and its different phases, surveys and route plans for laying pipelines.
Zulfkar asked the concerned agencies to initiate the process of lateral expansion of gaspipe line in all areas enrooting the project which ultimately ensure linkage of each household within round the clock supply line.
Underlining the significance of project, the Minister said that this project have great importance to State in providing adequate domestic and commercial supply of gas to the consumers on cheaper rate besides creating huge employment opportunities for youths.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary CAPD, Secretary Forest, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Director CAPD Jammu, Director CAPD Kashmir, Chairman Pollution Control Board, Chief Wild Life Officer, senior officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
