Srinagar: Scores of activists of separatist orgainzation Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement staged a peaceful protest at media hub here, demanding immediate release of political prisoners languishing in jails of Jammu Kashmir and outside State.
Carrying placards and banners seeking release of political prisoner and withdrawing of frivolous charges against them, JKSM activists led by Zafar Akbar Bhat while raising pro-freedom slogans lashed out at Indian media for its biased and malicious propganda against the political prisoners of Kashmir.
Talking to reporters, JKSM chairman, Zafar Akbar said that these poltical prisoners are the true representatives of Kashmiri people who have been fighting for a sacred cause. Delhi has no right to play politics over Masrat Aalam issue as he has been released on the directions of Court and all the cases filed against him have already been turned down by all local courts, he said.
He appealed International Community and Humna Rights organizations to put pressure on India and use their good offices to release all the Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in the jails of Jammu and Kashmir and outside States.
