SRINAGAR: A youth was found hanging in the Rajouri Kadal while a woman attempted to end her life in Kupwara last evening, police said today.
A police spokesman said in a statement that 20 year old Faizan Yousf, son of Mohammad Yousf, resident of Shakulpora in Rajouri Kadal was found hanging at his home.
Police have started investigation under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause his death. After conducting all medico legal formalities the body of deceased youth was handed over to his relatives for last rites, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, a lady (name with held) resident of Dildar Bhatpora in Karnah area of Kupwara district in an attempt to end her life consumed some poisonous substance at her home, police said.
The lady was shifted to Tangdar hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard, the spokesman added.
