Srinagar: Casual Labours in Tourism Department Tuesday accused authorities of depriving them of salaries.
In a statement, Tourism Workers Employees Union said that their salaries for past many months have been withheld.
Our salaries are being withheld for unknown reasons despite funds for our salaries have been released much before, the statement reads adding that the association had protested against the authorities several times but officials did not pay attention.
The workers alleged that some tourism officials in a bid to adjust their own relatives and friends in the department are forcing the incumbent daily wagers to quit the department. The workers sought intervention of Governor and said that if nepotism in the department will continue and their salaries not released, they will took to roads on daily basis to register their protest.
