SRINAGAR- The J&K chapter of Bharat Scouts & Guides conducted a one day Divisional Level trekking cum environment awareness Programme from Asthan Pora Brain Nishat to Gophabal Zabarwan mountain here on Friday.
The camp was flagged off by Farooq Ganderbali, a well known social activist, District commissioner adult Resources Scouts District Ganderbal and President Youth Development Forum J&K. About 100 scouts, Guides, Rovers & Rangers of District Ganderbal, Kupwara, Srinagar and Pulwama participated in the trekking programme.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Gulshan Ara, State Commissioner Adult Resources Guide Wing cum Jt. State Administrative Officer J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides and with the guide of Sheikh Mohammad Shafi, Jt. State Secretary, Hamida Sheikh, Jt. State Commissioner Rangers and Hamida Bano, Jt. State Organizing Commissioner Guides with the Support of Staff members of State Headquarter J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Srinagar and escorting teachers who came from different districts.
Basharat Saleem, District Organizing Commissioner (S) Pulwama Bharat Scouts and Guides, was also present in the programme and entertained all the participants during the trekking programme. All the participants enjoyed the programme to the fullest. Two expert Rovers from the locality guided the participants all along the track. The dedication of these two Rovers was highly appreciated by the Jt. State Secretary in his closing speech. The purpose of the trekking programme was to educate the participants about the environment and nature study and culture exchange between different Districts.
