NEW DELHI: Ahead of Barack Obama’s visit to Delhi next month, the US government has once again alerted the Indian government of a possible terror attack in the national capital and in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, where the polling for the fourth phase of the Assembly election is going on reports the Indian TV news channel Zee News.
Earlier this month, Delhi was put on high alert in the wake of four terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in which 11 security men and two civilians were killed. The syndicated terror strikes had seen heavy exchange of fire and hours long encounter, in which the Army personnel gunned down six militants.
A couple of days back the US intelligence agencies had issued a similar alert triggering a comprehensive security review of the national capital by the Delhi Police and Intelligence Bureau.
According to sources , after the first terror attack alert by the US intelligence agencies, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi had met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and briefed him of the security measures taken for Delhi reports Zee News.
As per reports, VVIP enclosure and the main stage where Obama, PM Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee will be seated on January 26 has already been sealed off by the Delhi Police and Nagaland Armed Police personnel .
