Srinagar- Inhabitants of Bemina Rakhi Arth Monday staged a protest here at Press Enclave, demanding basic facilities. The residents also demanded that the graveyard be allotted back, which according to them has been taken by LCMA.
The residents while talking to the media said that they have been deprived of the basic facilities. “Our children have been deprived of education. There is no electricity facility, no water facility and the irony is that the land issued for the graveyard is now being used for residential plots.”
“We were rehabilitated from Dal Lake in 2011 and every day we went to LCMA with our issues but all in vain. We want VC LCMA to give in writing that this land is allocated for a graveyard,” they said.
“We are thankful to the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir police for supporting us. We appeal LG administration to look into the matter so that the residents could heave a sigh of relief,” they said.
