Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer reportedly died of a heart attack in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
CRPF informed police that a Sub Inspector, Jai Naryan Singh, of 98 battalion complained difficulty in breathing during midnight and was taken to SDH Kupwara, officials said Monday. However doctor’s declared him dead on arrival, the official said. “Proceeding under 174 CrPC have been initiated,” the official added.
A doctor said while postmortem examination will reveal the real cause of the death, “our provisional diagnosis is that he died due to MI (myocardial infarction—heart attack).”
“We have taken viscera for histopathology examination. The samples have been sent and the final postmortem report will reveal the real cause of death. Our preliminary diagnosis suggests MI,” the doctor added. (GNS)
