Srinagar- Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Abdul Hamid Nath of Pethzanigam Beerwah was arrested by a joint team of police, army’s 2RR and 62RR and the personnel of CRPF 79 Battalion from Poshkar area of the district during a search operation based on a specific input about the movement of militants in the area, a police spokesperson said.
He said incriminating materials including a pistol and 1 magazine, 5 pistol rounds and 1 Chinese grenade were recovered from his possession.
As per police records, the police spokesperson said that Nath was active since Feb 2021 and was associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
“A case under relevant sections of law stands registered against him in the Police Station and investigation has been initiated,” he added.
