Srinagar: A leopard was found dead on Tuesday in Kokernag woods of south Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said.
They said villagers noticed a carcass of a leopard lying in the bushes of Kogamnard Soafshali forest area of Kokernag and informed the wildlife officials.
A team of the wildlife department reached the spot. An official of the department claimed that the leopard seems to have died of natural causes.
Forensic experts have collected some samples of the leopard body to ascertain the cause of the death, the sources added.
