Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura has withdrawn at least 66 advertised posts one year after the posts were advertised.
The move has left job aspirants high and dry who have sought explanation from authorities.
The aspirants who had applied for the different posts advertised by the SKIMS staged a protest at Press Enclave Srinagar.
They said that SKIMS advertised 183 posts in June 2020. “Applications were invited for the posts of Accountant Assistants, Lift Mechanics, Technicians Medical Group, Stewards and others. Our one year long wait ended on a sordid note when SKIMS abruptly withdrew 66 posts and informed the applicants that these posts won’t be filled up now.”
The questioned why were they made to wait for a year. “We were preparing for the examination and didn’t apply for jobs anywhere from past one year. Nobody responds from SKIMS and no concrete reason is being given for the withdrawal of these posts,” the job aspirants said adding they have apprehensions that these posts might have been filled up already through ‘illegal’ means.
The protesting job aspirants sought intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Despite repeated attempts, Director SKIMS didn’t respond to phone calls. (Agencies)
