Reviews Functioning Of The Corporation
Srinagar: Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation Junaid Azim Mattu Tuesday held a meeting with senior officers of the Corporation to review works pertaining to Sanitation, Works Division, Planning, Establishment, Drainage, Town planning, Street Lights and other routine works.
An SMC statement said that Mattu discussed various issues pertaining to upgrading and improvisation of work mechanism of solid waste management, drainage related projects, its implementation and execution, enforcement and beautification of the city.
While reviewing Drainage works, Mattu sought the status on working of Masterplan of Drainage networks of Srinagar city and also took review of various ongoing projects in place.
Regarding Fixation of consultancy contract for preparation of DPR’s and project consultancy services, it was directed by Mayor to take up the process at an earliest by having a meeting with the successful bidder and thereby proceeding further.
On reviewing sanitation, Mayor passed on directions to the concerned to rationalise the sanitation staff equally and balanced through out the wards so that no area in a ward is left out as to have better results of sanitation evenly across the city.
“Instructions were passed with regard to redressal of Public grievances on account of different wings including drainage and works related matters.”
Review on establishment of Covid wellness centres in the city was also taken up in the meeting.
He also reviewed Enforcement, Works wing, Street lighting, supply and availability of conservancy items in Purchase and Procurement and other functioning of the Corporation.
