Eye on business Nawaz, Modi to sidestep Kashmir, Terrorism
SRINAGAR: Buoyed by the decisive mandate both enjoy on their respective home turfs, Indias just sworn in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Mian Nawaz Sharif will have a one-on-one on Tuesday. Interestingly, Narendra Modis soubriquet NaMo clearly denotes initials of both leaders(Na for Nawaz and Mo for Modi).
Both leaders have signaled an increased urge to break bread with each other in order to achieve the economic goals, troubled by domestic conflicts in both countries.
On his first official trip to India as prime minster (he last came for Rajiv Gandhis funeral), Nawaz Sharif said he was here to turn a new leaf in the history of India-Pakistan relations. He looked set to drive an agenda of trade and economics at his bilateral meeting with Modi on Tuesday.
He said, I am here to turn a new leaf in the India-Pakistan relations.
Nawaz Sharif said he could easily work with Indias new government led by Narendra Modi, hoping that their personal focus on boosting business could help turn a new page in bilateral ties.
