Srinagar- Four persons who allegedly entered the heavily guarded Srinagar International Airport with fictitious tickets were detained by airport security this evening.
After preliminary questioning by the airport security, the arrested individuals were handed over to the concerned police station for further inquiry, sources told Kashmir Observer.
Confirming the arrest, a police official said the four had allegedly gained their entry to the heavily guarded Srinagar Airport using fictitious tickets and are presently lodged at the Humhama police station.
As soon as the airport authorities sent out a signal regarding the detention of four people, a police squad was dispatched to the Srinagar airport, he added.
He, however, claimed that no formal case has been filed against them as of yet.
“Actually the four had just accompanied their parents, who had to depart for Umrah; this is what the preliminary investigation revealed. No FIR has been registered against them as of now as the matter is under investigation,” he told Kashmir Observer.
He said since no individual is allowed to enter the airport premises without a valid ticket/pass, and those detained had managed their entry using forged tickets, leading to their detention.
Those detained have been identified as Junaid Ahmad, a resident of Utrusoo Nejgund in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Ahmad Sheikh of Baghyas Chattabal Srinagar, Shakir Mushtaq of Eidgah Srinagar and Aqib Mushtaq of Lal Bazar Srinagar.
