Uri- In yet another incident of man-animal conflict, a minor girl on Monday was mauled to death by a leopard in the border town of Uri in Baramulla district.
10-year-old Asifa Rashid was grazing cattle at Zamboor village of Uri on Monday afternoon when a leopard appeared there and attacked her, reports said. The minor girl, reports said, suffered grievous injuries in the surprise beast attack.
She passed away even before she could receive medical assistance.
A pall of gloom descended in the village when the girl’s body was brought for the last rites.
