SRINAGAR- The Jammu & Kashmir cricket team scored a paltry 191 against Vidarbha in the ongoing Ranji Trophy on Tuesday at VCA Stadium in Nagpur. Vidarbha were 58/2 at stumps.
J&K’s first innings total was reflective of their dismal former in the competition, as they came into the game on the back of two successive defeats. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, J&K lost opening batter and captain Shubham Khajuria on the very first ball of the match. Musaf Aijaz 41 (95) and Suryansh Raina 30 (54) were the top scorers for J&K, as they limped to 191 in 60 overs.
Vidarbha’s Yash Thakur claimed 4 wickets, while Nachiket Bhute and Aditya Sarwate took 3 wickets each.
In reply, Vidarbha had lost both its openers by the end of Day 1’s play. Pacer Umar Nazir and spinner Abid Mushtaq took 1 wicket each.
J&K are still in the game, and today’s early morning spell could well determine the outcome of the match.
