Srinagar- A day after Kashmir Observer carried a story on how the unhealthy state of washrooms inside the Srinagar International Airport (SXR) was hampering smooth travel, authorities have swung into action and begun to clean the washrooms inside the terminal.
Sources revealed that authorities have taken note of the “unhygienic washrooms” and begun cleaning them.
Passengers had long complained of unclean washrooms inside the airport terminal.

Earlier, a passenger speaking on anonymity had told Kashmir Observer that Lavatories at the “International Airport” were unclean with dysfunctional flush systems and no toilet papers.
“The stink coming out from washrooms is strong that it even can be felt in the seating areas”
Another issue which passengers had long complained about was the inadequate seating at the airport.
Much to the respite of passengers, Officials of the Srinagar International Airport (SXR) say the issues of unclean washrooms and Inadequate seating is being looked into.
Speaking to Kashmir Observer, Director Srinagar International Airport, Kuldeep Singh said that authorities have taken notice of the issues brought forth by the passengers.
“Washrooms at the airport are being cleaned and unused bottles left in washroom premises are also being removed” he said.
On the issue of inadequate seating for passengers, he said “adequate seating is also being increased to the adequate number so that passengers face no problems.
