Srinagar- After witnessing a sharp decline on Monday, the daily Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday breached 700-mark once again while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported on Monday 515 fresh cases of novel coronavirus against 275 detected a day earlier. Jammu division, they said, registered 226 new cases of Covid-19, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of the pandemic in J&K to 465904.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 239 new cases of virus, Baramulla 125, Budgam 42 , Pulwama 14 cases, Kupwara 38 cases, Anantnag 14, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 20 while as Shopian reported three fresh cases.
Similarly in Jammu division, they said, Jammu reported a maximum of 125 new cases of virus, Udhampur 14, Rajouri 16, Doda 24, Kathua 7, Kishtwar 3, Poonch 2, Ramban 25 and Reasi and Samba reported 3 cases each.
Also, the officials said that one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in Jammu division during the last 24 hours. So far, 4773 people have died in the pandemic in J&K—2344 in Jammu division and 2429 in the Valley.
“Moreover, 445 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 184 from Jammu division and 261 from Kashmir division,” they added.
