Srinagar- The daily Coronavirus cases continue to show an upwards trend as over a hundred people on Friday tested positive for the deadly infection in Jammu and Kashmir, even as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 56 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus were detected in Jammu division and 45 others in Kashmir Valley, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 455807.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 39 new cases of virus, while Kupwara registered six. No fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported from eight other districts of the Valley.
In the winter capital, they said, Jammu reported 42 new cases of virus, Udhampur four, Kathua three, Samba and Ramban two each while Rajouri, Doda, and Reasi reported one new case each.
Also, the officials said that no fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours. So far, 4757 persons have succumbed to the virus—2332 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.
“Moreover, 74 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 55 from Jammu division and 19from Kashmir division,” they added.
