Lose to Baroda by 7 wickets in final match
SRINAGAR- J&K cricket’s dismal performance in 2021 continued with a group stage exit in Under-19 Cooch Behar 4-Day Trophy.
Baroda secured a 7-wicket win on Wednesday to send bottom of the group J&K home with just 1 point from 5 matches.
Sent in to bat first, J&K managed only 131 runs in their first innings. Jugjap Singh was the highest scorer for J&K with 30 (36) runs. Baroda’s Raj Limbani took 5 wickets, while Karan Umatt took 4.
In reply Baroda was bowled out for 205 in their first innings. Dhruv Singh Parmar took 4 wickets for J&K, while Basit Bashir took 3.
J&K made 223/9 in 46 overs in their second innings, to set a target of 150 for Baroda to chase down. Akshit Gandral was J&K’s highest scorer with 80 (69) runs.
Baroda easily chased down the target, losing just 3 wickets in the process.
J&K lost 4 matches during the tournament, and earned just 1 point from a draw against Pondicherry.
