Srinagar- Over a hundred new cases of coronavirus were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 79 fresh cases of novel coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 32 from Jammu division thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 340833.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 38 new cases of virus, Baramulla 19, Ganderbal 9, Budgam 5, Kupwara 3, Pulwama and Bandipora 2 each and Kulgam 1. No cases were registered in the twin districts of Shopian and Anantnag.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 21 new cases of coronavirus, Doda and Poonch 3 each, Udhampur 2 and one fresh case each in Rajouri, Kathua and Kishtwar. The three districts of Samba, Ramban and Reasi registered no new cases of Covid-19.
“Moreover, 127 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 43 from Jammu Division and 84 from Kashmir,” the officials said.
Also, they said that one more person died of Covid-19 related complications in Kashmir Valley, taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4524 in J&K—2197 in Jammu and 2327 in Kashmir.
