3rd defeat in 4 matches
SRINAGAR: J&K senior men’s team on Monday suffered its 3rd loss in 4 matches of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2021 being played at Vadodara, Gujarat.
Shubham Pundir-led J&K fell short by just 4 runs after restricting Himachal to 157/8 in 20 overs. HP’s Rishi Dhawan took 6 wickets in his 3.5 overs, giving away 23 runs and dismantling the J&K batters.
Chasing the target, only Abdul Samad and Aquib Nabi took the Himachal bowlers to the cleaners. Samad smashed a 32-ball 55, while Aquib score 29 of just 8 balls which included 4 sixes. However, Himachal kept taking wickets and eventually managed to bowl J&K out for 153.
Earlier, Aquib Nabi had an impressive opening spell, removing Himachal openers in the second and fourth over. However, Himachal duo of Raghav and Rishi Dawan smacked 47 and 45, respectively to help their team reach 157.
For J&K, Aquib Nabi took 3 wickets, while Abid Mushtaq and Parvez Rasool took 2 wickets each.
