Srinagar: Brewing strong resentment, residents of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Monday accused the authorities for failing to undertake repair work of the Srinagar-Bandipora road.
The local residents of the district said, that the Bandipora-Srinagar road at many places including Nasoou, Papachan, SK-Payeen, Ajas, Bazipora, Shadipora, Dangerpora, and Chorthung Pass is dotted with potholes posing risk to accidents.
They said that the road is in a dilapidated condition for the last few years but the authorities have failed to even pay a visit to ascertain the damages.
A group of locals said that they have to visit Bandipora town frequently for their routine work and their vehicles often get damaged due to bad condition of the road.
“While the main road is in bad condition, the interior roads are even worse, with most of them remaining mere mud tracks, ” Ishfaq Ahamad a local said.
The residents appealed the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to personally look into the matter in order to redress their grievances.
