Jamia Auqaf Pays Tribute To Imam Hussain, Karbala Martyrs
Srinagar: Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid Wednesday paid tribute to the Martyrs of Karbala especially Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) – the beloved grandson of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) – for their great and historic sacrifices.
In a statement Anjuman said that the tribute was paid on behalf of its head Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest since August 5, 2019.
The Anjuman said to safeguard the thought, teachings and basic tenets of Islam, Hazrat Imam Aali Muqaam (RA), on 10 Muharram-ul-Haram 61 Hijri, along with his brave associates expressed such valour and sacrifice which will continue to guide the entire humanity till the last day.
Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) by refusing to surrender before tyrants (falsehood) set an example which acts as torchbearer for those striving for truth (Haq), till the Day of Judgement, the Anjuman said, adding that the exemplary sacrifices of the Martyrs of Karbala will always guide the Muslims as Imam Aali Muqaam’s (RA) martyrdom in the scorching desert of Karbala is a glorious chapter in the history of Islam and humanity.
The best way to pay tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the Martyrs of Karbala is to stand firm against all kinds of Baatil – the hegemonic powers whose thought and ideology are in contravention to the principles of humanity and morality – and to always keep the flag of Haq (truth) and justice flying high.”
APHC Condemns Use Of Force On Muharram Procession
All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Wednesday condemned the “assault” on mourners who took part in the Muharram processions in Lal chowk area of Srinagar on Tuesday.
APHC in a statement said not only did the mourners become the target of “official wrath” but even journalists covering the event were ruthlessly beaten and their equipment damaged by the forces, which again is condemnable.
APHC said that forcible closure of mosques and other places of worship, banning religious gatherings, processions and events and instead ruthlessly beating up people who stand up for their religious rights in the garb of COVID, the authorities completely expose themselves.
“Authorities force public participation in official functions and events that they hold with scant COVID concern or following the protocols. Official diktats are enforced to ensure people participate in official events and are threatened with consequences otherwise. But religious places are barred to public, even though all COVID SOPs are in place and bans are forcibly executed.”
APHC said such “anti-people policies” of the rulers only create further dissent and vitiate the situation on the ground. “All mourners who have been detained by the government should immediately be released and all religious events related to Muharram should be allowed to take place without hindrance.”
