Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was injured on Saturday in a grenade attack by militants in Sanat Nagar area of this capital city.
Around 8:55 pm Saturday, unknown militants lobbed a grenade towards a CRPF party at Sanat Nagar Chowk leaving one security personal injured, officials said. The injured CRPF man was removed to the nearby hospital for treatment, the officials said.
The attack on CRPF party came at a time when the Valley, especially this capital city has been placed under a thick security cover.
According to reports, the grenade attack created panic in the busy Sanat Nagar Chowk prompting people to run towards the safer places.
On Friday, two civilians and a CRPF head constable were injured in Sopore town of Baramulla district when militants hurled a grenade at a CRPF team.
