Srinagar: Police on Tuesday claimed to have solved murder case of a minor in central Kashmir’s Budgam district by arresting three accused.
On December 1, police received a written complaint from Hilal Ahmad Najar of Chewdara that his minor son Burhan was missing from his home, a police spokesperson said Tuesday. Accordingly, he said, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in police station Beerwah and investigation was taken up.
A day later, the police spokesperson said, the body of the missing minor was recovered from a canal outside his village.
“During further investigation and sustained efforts by police, one accused who is the cousin of the victim was arrested. When the officers spoke to her they learnt about the involvement of other two suspects. All the 3 accused persons have been arrested in the instant case and are currently under custody,” he said.
He further said that the case was under investigation and will be charge-sheeted within the shortest possible time.
