Budgam: After Budgam Administration permitted the exhumation of the body of a youth who died in the first week of August last month, a team led by Naib Tehsildar in presence of police exhumed the body amid protest in Surisyar Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Pertinently, on 5 August last month, a youth namely Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Muhammad Sidiq Dar of Surasyar area of Chadura died at his home after playing cricket whole day with his friends. He was buried at his native graveyard in Surasyar. After his death, family doubted that his friends might have forced him to consume some drugs and that might have resulted in his death.
To ascertain the cause of his death, they wanted the body to be exhumed so that a postmortem could be conducted on it.
The family had approached District Development Commissioner Budgam with a request to exhume the body. They in an application had stated that they have strong suspicion over his two friends, one is a driver who hails from Sursyar and another is from Gund Chadoora.
Sources said that in order to ascertain the cause of death, the District Development Commissioner had granted permission and today a team of doctors along with forensic experts in presence of civil and police administration exhumed the body.
The body was taken to PHC Chadoora where medical team and FSL teams conducted post mortem.
Sources said that the relatives and family members of the deceased youth staged a protest when the exhumation process was in progress. The protesters blocked Kralpora-Chadoora road and accused police of inaction. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused. Police and civil administration officials rushed to spot and pacify the protesters assuring them action will be initiated only after the outcome of the post mortem report. (KNT)
