Adding some ice in the water tank can also add to the cooling effect of a cooler. The latest models actually come with compartments specifically dedicated for adding ice. When you add ice, the cooling pad becomes cooler and release cooler air.

It is often a misunderstood fact that air coolers, like air conditioners, run efficiently in closed-door spaces. This is not true since they operate on the principles of evaporation, by streaming hot air through cooling pads dipped in water. Preferably, place the cooler in front of a window. Continuous airflow is vital for cooling.
Servicing and Maintenance of the Cooler
Step 1 is cleaning dust from the cooling pads with a brush. If theres too much dirt eventually resulting in clogging, it is better to replace it. You can also choose to get professional help for the same.
Soak the cooling pads
Switch on the water pump for some time before switching on the fan of the cooler. It supplies instantaneous cool air. You can also sprinkle some water on the cooling pads, be mindful and avoid getting the electronic components in contact with water.
