SRINAGAR Hurriyat Conference (G) termed governments claim about withdrawal of security to its chairman Syed Ali Geelani as brazen lie and said that it should be ashamed of its claim.
While commenting on governments decision on withdrawal of security to Syed Ali Geelani said, a spokesman said in statement that this was a brazen lie and such a ridiculous report need only to be laughed at.
Hurriyat said that Delhi rulers and their local stooges always try to hoodwink the world by this unrealistic and false propaganda and clarified that Geelani Sahab was neither provided any security nor has he requested for it, a spokesman of the amalgam said.
He (Geelani) continues to be confined in his house for the last nine years but forcibly occupying the gates and then claiming it to be the security is such a ridicules report government and its agencies should be ashamed of.
Hurriyat Conference said that similar false statement was aired by jingoistic media channels in 2014 floods when they claimed that staunch anti-India and pro-freedom leader Syed Ali Geelani was rescued by Indian army” but this brazen lie was exposed when everybody here knew that Geelanis residence was safe and no water logging was in that area.
Govt statement Lie: Yasin Malik
JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik on Thursday termed the governments announcement about the withdrawal of security cover of some leaders a “lie”.
The JKLF chairman said he never had any security at his residence, office or even at his public rallies and he had turned down offers for it several times. He termed the notification a “lie”.
In a statement, the governor Satyapal Malik administration last night said that the security of eighteen Hurriyat Conference leaders including Yasin Malik has been withdrawn following Pulwama attack.
Addressing a press conference at his office in Srinagar, Malik said that he had turned down the repeated offers by the police to provide him security.
Every time they offered me security, I turned it down. I strongly believe that the life and death are in the hands of Almight Allah, Malik told journalists at his Abi Guzar office.
This is utter dishonesty on the part of the government, Malik said on the notification issued by the governor administration last night.
A spokesperson of the Home Department said it was felt that providing security to these separatist leaders was “a wastage of scarce state resources which could be better utilised elsewhere”.
