SRINAGAR In a clear disregard for the Supreme Court (SC) directions banning corporal punishment to students the teachers and the management particularly in private schools continues to go by the age old practice.
A seventh class student, Houd Yousuf Wani, son of Suheel Yousuf Wani of Kadi kadal, Srinagar studying at New R P School was allegedly beaten by a Vice principal of school ruthlessly resulting in soft tissue injuries in his left arm.
Parents of the child while taking to a local news agency said that their son fainted as soon as he reached home. He was not in a position to speak a word, they said adding that their son was punished for not completing homework.
However they added that, We have already registered a complaint in Director School education yesterday. Director School assures that no such incident is going to happen in future. School authority also accept mistake and assure that they wont repeat this in future.
They said that their children are not ready to go school adding that it is really difficult to motivate them to go school again.
Meanwhile when contact New R.P School authority they said school authority will take action against the teacher and also assured that in future no such incident will happen.
