JammuMinister of State for Transport Sunil Kumar Sharma today informed the House that two types of companies licenses are being issued by the State Transport Authority including Agents License and Motor Transport Service License.
Replying to question raised by Choudhary Vikram Randhawa, the Minister informed that the Goods Carrier companies must have proper accommodation for storing goods or booking goods, as per rule 133(b) which is reproduced as the suitability of accommodation, under the control of the applicant for the storage of goods at every operating place.
The Minister said that NOCs from the Transport Companies for renewal of permits is not mandatory. However, the letter of Attachments are being obtained from the Registered Transport Companies for renewal of permits to confirm about the permit holder that he is live or outlived.
The Minister informed that route permits and fitness certificates are being renewed as per Motor Vehicle Act and Rules framed and no unauthorized persons are allowed to process these files. However, the representatives of Registered Transport Companies are allowed to process the documents of affiliated/attached vehicles of their fleet.
He further said a Circular in this regard stands already issued by the Transport Department. Only those persons who have been authorized by the registered Transport Companies are allowed to process the files of their respective registered Transport Companies. These persons work on valid identity cards issued by the concerned registered Transport Company, he added.
