BandiporaAn amount of Rs 258.53 crore has been advanced by various banks under district credit plan during the quarter ending September 2017 in district Bandipora.
This was stated during a meeting of District Coordination Committee and District Level Review Committee presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad.
The meeting was informed that the financial institutions operating in the district registered the achievement of 62 percent. Out of the total advanced amount, Rs 156.12 crore were provided under priority-sector and Rs 102.41 crore under non-priority sector.
Achievements made under District Credit plan during the second quarter of the current financial year were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Lead District Manager said that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 220.56 crore which accounts for 85 percent of the total credit advanced by all banks in the district.
The ADC on the occasion stressed for speedy disposal of Government sponsored cases and asked the banks and sponsoring agencies to work in coordination and cohesion to achieve the goal and targets for development, progress and eradication of unemployment. He urged officers to conduct maximum awareness programmes in the district.
Reviewing the achievements of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Bandipora, Director RSETI informed that 5 training programmes were conducted during the quarter under during which 156 candidates got training in different trades and skills. Out of the total 156 candidates, 66 candidates were provided with the credit linkage facility to start their income generating units while as 29 candidates settled with self-finance.
The Director said that 3576 candidates have been imparted training at RSETI Bandipora since its inception, out of whom 1623 candidates availed credit facility under different schemes from the financial institutions. He said that the institute organized 23 awareness camps in the second quarter including 11 camps conducted in far-flung areas including in Gurez and Tulail blocks.
