SrinagarDeputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, today convened a meeting to discuss measures for traffic decongestion in the City Centre.
SP Traffic City, VC Srinagar Development Authority besides senior officers from Police and SMC attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the DC sought suggestions to improve the traffic flow and discussed measures that can be taken to ensure sustainable decongestion of the city centre.
The meeting also discussed the need for creating more parking spaces in the City centre.
It was said that possibilities will be explored for a parking space at the erstwhile Government Press Building on MA Road.
Dr. Shah, while speaking on the occasion, said no roadside encroachment by vendors will be allowed in the city centre, instructing the concerned to ensure there are no violations.
The DC also sought a feasibility report for setting up a cross-over opposite the mechanized car parking at MA Road.
