SrinagarMinister for IT/TE/Youth Services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Wednesday inaugurated Lets Play Football Championship TRC Astro Turg Ground, Srinagar, a statement from Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K said.
According to the statement, the high profile tourney was awarded to Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K by Government of India Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
MOS for Youth services & Sports, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director General National Anti Doping Agency Naveen Aggarwal,IPS. Commissioner Secretary to Government Youth Servicers and Sports, Hilal Ahmad Parray, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, bid Rashid Shah, Secretary J&K State Sports Council Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, and people from different walks of life were in attendance in the inaugural function.
Molvi Imran Raza Ansari while highlighting the importance of such mega events for the development of better sports culture in the State of J&K, said that the Government of J&K is committed to take every such step which will boost the sports talent in the young blood and provide them with the opportunities to showcase their talent at the National and Inter-National levels. He further stated that the Department of Youth Services and Sports is leaving no stone unturned in tapping sports talent in the School Children and witnessing such seriousness in the field staff of the Department, one can easily foresee a better atmosphere for games and sports in the days to come.
Lets Play is the best opportunity available to our Students and non-students for showing their talent in the game of football, he said. He also stated that with the good coordination and help from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, (GOI) good results are expected.
Director General NADA Naveen Aggarwal,IPS while thanking the Department of Youth Services and Sports for showing a serious concern about creating an awareness regarding Games and Sports in the State of J&K assured that every possible help will be provided by the Ministry of Sports, GOI, for encouraging the talented sports players. He hoped that a good number of Girls and Boys between the age of 6 to 19 years from all the zones of the state shall take part in the tournament.
He stressed upon the field staff of Youth Services and Sports Department to encourage the mass participation of students and non-students in the sports extravanza. He assured every possible help from the Ministry in polishing sports talent of those footballers who play with dedication, better techniques and sportsman spirit.
Hilal Ahmad Parray, Commissioner Secretary to Govt. Youth Services and Sports Department while thanking Minister for Youth Services and Sports Molvi Imran Raza Ansari for taking personnel interest in materializing the genuine demands of the field staff of youth services and Sports Department said that Physical Education Teachers, Masters and other staff of the Department should show utmost seriousness in channelizing the sports talent of the school children.
Earlier while welcoming the guests in the inaugural ceremony of the football tournament, Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director Youth Services and Sports said that about 77,824 Boys and Girls from 199 zones of 22 Districts of the state are expected to participate in the mega championship. At Zonal level 1592 Girls and 3184 Boys shall be participating in 4776 matches of the championship.
While giving the details he further said that in all the 22 Districts of the State, 110 competitions of boys and 66 matches of girls will be conducted in the said championship. He also stated that at Divisional level 10 matches of boys and 6 matches of girls at each Division will be organized.
