SrinagarJ&K State Power Development Corporation (J&KSPDC) and Lone Star KFC Blue won their Premier Division and Super Division fixtures respectively in State Football League 2017, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association-the organisers of the tourney-said on Wednesday.
LSKFC Blue beat Rahim Greens Solina Sports 3-2 in a closely contested affair in their Super Division fixture played at Synthetic Turf, TRC Ground Srinagar. The first half was all LSKFC scoring all of their three goals in the first 25 minutes. Nadeem opened the account for LSKFC in the 16th minute of the game while Faizan doubled the lead just four minutes later. Zubair scored the third goal for LSKFC in the 25th minute of the match. At that moment, LSKFC were all over Rahim Greens Solina as teams went into the break with the former having a 3-0 lead.
The second half saw different Rahim Greens Solina as they came out all guns blazing looking to attack from the word go. Their aggressive play was rewarded with two back to back goals. Sahil Dar and Hakim narrowed the lead to 3-2, but the third and equalizing goal became elusive with LSKFC tightening their defence to preserve the lead and pocket all three points.
The premier division fixture played at the same venue saw J&K SPDC team defeat Iqbal Sports 3-0 in what turned out to be a lopsided affair. J&KSPDC team played attacking football from the get go and kept defence lines of the opposite team under pressure. In the 10th minute of the first half, Tafeem Tariq scored a goal for J&KSPDC and Sheikh Faizan doubled the lead in the 35th minute. When Sanan Tariq scored the third goal, the fate of the match was sealed in favour of J&KSPDC. It was after six matches that J&KSPDC tasted a victory as they either lost or drew all their previous matches. Sanan Tariq was declared as player of the match for his performance.
Meanwhile, B-Division league of the ongoing State Football League is already completed with IFC Nowgam winning the title and Noorbagh FC finishing as runners up. The A-Division League has reached to the semi-final stage with Novelty Blue, Jehangir Club, Fort Club Views and Novelty FC qualifying for seminal.
More than 50 percent match of the Super and Premier Division league have been completed till date. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
