SrinagarKashmir Economic Alliance-an amalgam of of traders, hoteliers, transporters Thursday staged a peaceful protest against braid cutting incidents in Kashmir Valley.
The protesting traders while carrying placards and banners assembled at Press Enclave Srinagar and carried out a march that culminated at Ghanta Ghar Lal Chowk.
KEA Co-chairman Farooq Ahmed Dar
expressed serious concern over the incidents of braid chopping and urged locals, mohalla and masjid committees to keep vigil on miscreants involved in these immoral activities and expose them in public.
Dar termed it a part of deep rooted conspiracy.
“The mass hysteria has gripped the whole state and its really frustrating as to how government is not able to identify and arrest those responsible for the mayhem. They have men and machinery at their disposal but unfortunately government is still clueless,” he said and added that honor of daughters and mothers is supreme to us and that there should not be any compromise with it.
