SrinagarDivisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Thursday convened a meeting to review the draft of the new comprehensive rehabilitation plan for affected traders of the General Bus Stand Batamalloo which has been shifted on the directions of High Court.
VC SDA, Chief Town Planner, SE R&B, Deputy Director Planning, other concerned officers besides representatives of affected traders of General Bus Stand Batamalloo were present in this meeting.
Under the new comprehensive rehabilitation plan for the affected traders, 25 kanals of additional land has been acquired by the government for the construction of new shopping complexes at the Parimpora Bus Terminal, where a total of 718 affected traders will be rehabilitated.
The meeting was informed that in the first phase 146 shops with 9×10 feet dimension will be constructed in the new premises at the Parimpora Bus Stand. It was also said that the shops will be provided free of cost.
The Div Com directed the R&B Department to immediately start construction of the new shopping complex.
Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com said that under this new comprehensive rehabilitation plan all the affected shopkeepers and others whose trading activities might have suffered will be properly rehabilitated at the New Parimpora Bus Stand.
