Shopian-Bijbehara road widening: Rehabilitation plan for affected traders finalized

Shopian—Member Legislative Assembly Shopian, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday convened a meeting to chalk out an effective mechanism for rehabilitation of the shopkeepers whose outlets are coming under alignment for widening of Shopian-Bijbhera Road at Sanigloo.

The meeting was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer, Executive Engineer Local bodies, Executive Officer Municipality, Tehsildar Shopian and other concerned besides shopkeepers of Habdipora.

During the meeting, rehabilitation plan for affected shopkeepers of Shangloo Chowk to Sumo Stand Bonbazar Shopian was worked out. The shopkeepers agreed to the proposed plan and thanked the MLA and the DDC for their intervention in the matter.

The proposed shops will be allotted to the affected shopkeepers on production of valid revenue documents by way draw of lots.

Also, other related land issues with respect to Shopian-Bijbhera road were also discussed threadbare.
