Kargil Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today urge the youth to experience social, cultural and art films rather than restricted to commercial and entertainment films.
Anayat Ali was speaking at an inaugural ceremony of Kargil International Film Festival (KIFF) 2017 at Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall Kargil organized by DBG Films Mumbai in Collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil and Student Educational Movement of Kargil.
Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan was Guest of Honour and MLA Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalia Special Guest on the occasion.
Lauding the effort of the organizers, the Chairmen said that stressed on the need to motivate filmmakers to explore the untapped locating locations and picturesque views capable to catch eye of any Bollywood and Hollywood filmmaker.
The Chairmen said that events like this create opportunities to market tourism industry and show unique case culture of the region, besides generating employment avenues.
Talking note of Mehdi Memorial Auditorium Hall, Anayat Ali directed District Information Officer to prepare a DPR for its renovation and up-gradation to conducted more such events at larger scale in the region.
During three day the KIFF will showcase 85 documentary films from 29 different countries.
