Arms recovered during searches in Ganderbal

Ganderbal—Government forces on Monday recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in a forest area of Kangan in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Acting on a specific information, a joint party of SOG Ganderbal and 24 RR launched a search operation in Chokinar Akhal forest area of Kangan in Ganderbal district in the wee hours of Monday morning,” said an official.

He said that a hideout under a rock was busted during the operation.

“Arms and ammunition, including one AK-56 rifle, 02 magazines and 44 rounds were recovered,” said the official.

“In this regard, police has taken cognizance and an FIR has been registered in Police Station Kangan,” he said. (CNS)
