JammuFour persons, including a woman, have been arrested along with 20 kg of poppy and 6 kg of cannabis from different places here, the police said Friday.
During checking of vehicles, a police party Thursday recovered 20 kgs of poppy from the possession of three persons who were travelling in a car, a police officer said, adding that trio were arrested.
The trio was on its way towards Bari Brahmana from Kashmir.
A case has been registered at Gangyal police station in the matter and further investigation is underway, he said.
Similarly during a surprise checking and frisking drive at Wave Mall Chowk here, 6 kg of Cannabis was seized from the possession of a woman, a police officer said.
A case has been registered in the matter, he said, adding the woman has been arrested.
During preliminary enquiry, the woman revealed that she hails from Rajasthan and presently putting-up in Narwal here, the officer said.
She told police that the drug was meant to be sold among the youth of the district.
An investigation is underway in the matter and further details are awaited, he said.
