Yatri dies due to land slide in Katra

Katra—One Amarnath Yatri has died while seven others have suffered injuries due to landslide and shooting stones in Katra Jammu.

Reports said that the incident happened when a landslide and shooting stones hit a group of Yatries on way to Amarnath Shrine cave near Devi Dwar Himkoti.

A police official said that a female yatri died on spot while seven others were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Yesterday, a Yatri Bhushan Kotwal from Jammu died after he was hit by a shooting stone in Baltal.

The police official identified the slain woman as Suman (32) wife of Rajveer of Bithvana Rewari Haryana.

Some of the wounded yatris who are being treated at the Naryana Hospital Kakaryal, Katra. have been identified as Baby Tanvi (6) D/o Yogendra Kumar R/o Bawal , Rewari (Haryana), Yogendra Kumar (34) S/o Rajinder Prasad R/o Bawal, Rewari (Haryana), Asha Devi (38) W/o Girijesh Sahni R/o Bhagwat Pur, Madhubani (Bihar), Giri Raj Sahni (42) S/o Jugal Kishore Sharma R/o Bhagwat Pur, Madhubani (Bihar), Saksham (5) S/o Raj Kumar R/o Haryana and Rajveer S/o Ami Lal R/o Rewari Haryana.
